1. Who/what really is House Lok-ri?
This information can be found at the menu to the left under the link History.
Back to top2. Can I use "Lok-ri" as my last name?
Members with the Lok-ri last name are "Bloodkin". They are fully related to each other. We have an extensive family heirarchy and once you take the last name, you mean to be Lok-ri for the long haul. We would hate for you to take the last name and then soon after find out that Lok-ri is not the guild for you. Then you have this annoying last name to deal with on your character. Please read the application process thread thoroughly to understand in more detail. Please note that once you are a full member, you start off as Bloodless, then later you ask to become Bloodkin. There is very little difference in rank between Bloodless and Bloodkin other than taking the last name of Lok-ri.
>Back to top3. Now that I am with the guild in game, why would I join House Lok-ri fully?
Because we are still looking for quality members to join us for future endeavors. Because we are a quality family feeling guild that has been around for 6+ years. The bond between our members is strong and always looking for more people to join our "family". It takes a long time to become a full member, but once you join, you will understand why. By the time you are a full member, hopefully the bond with your "Family" is so strong that you will want to remain for the long haul. We are not a guild with a revolving door, nor a guild that will boost numbers simply to succeed. In time, you will come to appreciate this. If not, there are many guilds out there better suited for you, and we both will be happy to simply call each other good friends who once traveled together.
Back to top4. How do I join House Lok-ri?
Please see the link to the left called: Apply
Back to top5. Is it ok to remain in the militia or just the Lok-ri non-full-member masses?
Of course! In each game so far, we have had the rank Militia or some sort of equivalent. It is simply for those who do not desire to join fully and only are there for the game of choice and really have no intentions to follow further along. But please remember that your opinions, while important, are not heard nearly as well as those who are Petitioners or higher. Of course a full member has more of a "vote" than anyone else.
Back to top6. Why do new people have to wait so long to gain access to the forums, voice communication, and to become full members?
Because we are looking for serious members. Serious members are those who involve themselves and submerse themselves in all that is "Lok-ri". They tend take everything a little more seriously and this in turn helps to promote a good image to outsiders and recruits. Their opinions tend to truly reflect what Lok-ri should be rather than what individuals want. This is also because we don't want some random person gaining access who does not take the guild seriously. We also do not want people gaining access for malicious reasons.
Back to top7. What is "Verified"? Why would I want to become "Verified"?
This is part of the join process under the link Apply on the menu to the left.
"Verified" means that you have read our rules and you understand them. To prove understanding you must have submitted the application.
8. What are the rules of House Lok-ri?
Please see the link to the left titled: House Guidelines
Back to top9. What is "Petitioner"? How do I get promoted to "Petitioner"?
A "Petitioner" is someone who is serious about becoming a full member. They have submitted an application. They have written a story to reflect who they are RP wise. They desire more of a voice of what House Lok-ri does in the future. They desire to become a part of the family rather than someone along for the ride.
Back to top10. How do I get promoted past "Petitioner" and become a full member?
You simply become "Verified", write a short or long story, then just hang out with us. The time period could be long, but it is for the good of both the guild and you. This way we are more sure we are a fit for one another. We take full membership into Lok-ri very seriously as I have said before, we don't have a revolving door for membership. We consider most memberships for life. It is actually very difficult to lose Lok-ri membership once granted. It is just like you simply cannot really un-become a child in a real life family.
Back to top11. What does the future hold for the guild?
That is up to us and of course the leadership. House Lok-ri will remain playing games as long as we have a group to play with (big or small).
Back to top12. Is House Lok-ri a democracy, oligarchy, monarchy,....what?
House Lok-ri is really none of the above. House Lok-ri belongs to Vorgen. Solely to Vorgen. After Vorgen, House Lok-ri belongs to the council to speak in his voice. He uses his council to give him input and ideas. If necessary, he will appoint a Regent who can speak in his voice, but the guild is still his. He uses the guild for input and ideas, however, all can be bypassed if any decision would be detrimental to what Lok-ri is. Does this seem stoic and unbending? To someone who cares less about the vision of Lok-ri, yes it can. But that is what makes Lok-ri different than most guilds. We are based on tradition and based on a family lead by the father figure which is Vorgen Lok-ri. In recent days Vorgen has taken a break. He entrusted in his council to make decisions based on what he created. The Elders of House Lok-ri have full power to make decisions in Vorgen's voice and they have named Aramina Lok-ri regent in command to speak directly on his behalf. Sometimes they make mistakes, but no one is perfect.
Back to top13. Does my vote or opinion count?
Yes!!! Of course!!! But please remember, the higher your rank, the louder your voice. But if your opinion did not count, you would not be asked. We promise!!
Back to top14. Should I recruit people I feel would fit House Lok-ri?
Yes please!!!! But since the council has so much to do. Please help by pointing them to our forums and the Apply link on the menu to the left. Please help by explaining how to become Verified. Please help by explaining that although it can be less in some certain games, we are a RP guild. Please know that all people you invite are your responsibility and their behavior can reflect back on your decision making process. So PLEASE be careful about who you ask to join us. We don't want to boost numbers simply by inviting random people. We want quality people who we think will be good for the guild in the long run. With all this said, please know that the militia (or equivalent) rank and even the petitioner rank is precisely what they are. They are Non-full members. If they don't fit for the guild, they can be weeded out. So if you invite someone who is not a fit, don't worry unless you do this often!
Back to top15. Who would make a good recruit?
*Someone who understands RP. How do you know this? RP around them and evaluate their response. They don't have to RP, but they have to respect it.
*Someone who is not a loot whore. Group with them, and get a feel of their generosity.
*Someone who is a team player. Will they mind helping lower levels?
*Someone who is not a guild hopper. Just ask how many guilds they have been in for the game we are in and then in totality.
*Someone who does not have a stupid name. Even though we have taken a more relaxed approach to RP in some games, the name policy still applies. We don't want d00d names. We don't want gross, stupid, or l337 names. Their name should reflect their morality.
*Someone who will pvp just as much as pve and vice versa. We don't want someone who is timid to pvp. We don't want someone who will refuse to pve. A person who will do both is more rounded and tends to be more of a team player.
*Someone you know in Real Life. These are usually the best recruits. We almost always welcome real life friends. But please...also make sure they are willing to embrace the Lok-ri ideals.
