It has been three days of long travel through the coastal lands in finally reaching sight of House Lok-ri. Lia' thinks back to the day when the message arrived from her brother, Turien, inviting her to, "...swear your life to our Thaelostor and the House Lok-ri, and with a stroke remove your bastardly and arise as Lia' Lok-ri, Bloodkin and Saerdulil of the House Lok-ri." Excited beyond herself in making contact with a brother she never knew, Lia relayed this good news to her friends in the wild, a house of friends supposedly devoted to Braialla and all of nature, in the deep forests. Thinking that they would be as excited as she, Lia' was soon greatly disappointed with the looks of anger she received; and appalled at the word 'traitor' she caught them whispering when they thought she couldn't hear. Fearing for her life and not understanding why the ones so devoted to the Goddess would treat her in such a manner Lia' decided to leave one night, following a path to the coast. During her journey she vaguely remembers her father, Adobanderiel, mentioning, many years ago, that she had a brother, but never thought to see him after so many countless years.
Dressed in her finest cloak with a great Druid oaken staff in-hand, Lia' finally approaches the gates to the Great Hall of House Lok-ri. She notices two guards on-duty and wonders how many more are watching that she does not see. Walking within hailing distance she speaks, "I come in search of my brother Turien, Irmaelin of House Lok-ri, who has invited me as Bloodkin to this great House. Where might I find him?" Lia' does not wait long for a reply. "Welcome Lady Lia', we have been told to expect you. Come this way."
Lia' is escorted to a grand hall that is exquisite in beauty. She is offered a seat and awaits for those that may come to greet her. While waiting, Lia' pulls from her cloak the message her brother sent her and reads it once again:
Greetings and salutations to you, my dearest Lia'
As empires and lands have been shattered alike through the Ages, elvenkind has remained strong, thus shall it remain for Ages to come till we once again walk among the gods as equals and matters of Aerynth no longer concern us.
With the world shattered and elvenkind scattered like dust to the winds, family is more important than ever, family, in this age, some would argue is everything. This is why I have sent this message to you my dearest sister.
Sister? Yes indeed, as an Irmaelin of my... our House, I have access to many tomes describing the lives of Lok-ri great and insignificant. Even though our father Adobanderial was as generous with his seed as he was to himself with his wine, scribes have observed and recorded as is their duty. Even a child born through adultry such as yourself has not passed by unnoticed.
But this is all in the past, in the Age of Strife, even bastardborn may achieve greatness and lessers absolved of their crimes against elvenkind. Thus has our great Thaelostor Vorgen decreed and thus shall it be.
With this simple note, I Turien Lok-ri, Bloodkin and Irmaelin of the most noble House of Lok-ri, invite you, Lia', bastardborn daughter of Adobanderiel the Mad of House Lok-ri to leave your squalor you no doubt live in and join the greatness of our House, swear your life to uor Thaelostor and the House Lok-ri and with a stroke remove your bastardy and arise as Lia' Lok-ri, Bloodkin and Saerdulor of the House Lok-ri.
With much love and best of wishes on your journey,
Turien Lok-ri
Tears form at the edges of Lia's eyes apon once again reading this message...
