House Lok-ri Guidelines...

**Battlefield Laws**

Everyone who joins the House in any world must follow basic military rules. Thankfully, we of House Lok-ri have a proud lineage, and the grandest military tradition as our heritage. We know how to fight, and this is how we will do it. If your character does not know how to fight, he will be taught.

1. Military Actions

The Guild leader and members of the Council can call guild-wide Military Actions by designating a Battle Leader and one or more objectives. They are the only guild members who can do so. One of our primary objectives is to take the fight to the enemy and deny the enemy access to resources. Expect opportunities to prove your valor on the field of battle.

2. Duty

You will fight during Military Actions offensive or defensive. You cannot pursue your own agenda during this time. No excuses about how you are 5.4 hours running distance away and how you almost got the Holy Grail will be accepted.

3. Chain of Command

During any Military Actions, if you are not a leader, follow the commands of your group leader. If you are a group leader, follow the commands of the Battle Leader. If you are the Battle Leader, don't screw up. A group that doesn't follow the plan gets killed. If you do screw up, worry about it afterward. Do not dwell on the issue but move forward taking note for discussion later.

4. Suggestions

Complain or suggest ideas before or after Military Actions, but never during one. An arguing group gets killed.

5. Clarity

Stay focused on the battle and avoid unnecessary chatter. Its a grim time and everyone must concentrate, win, and be done with it as efficiently as possible. A group that isn't paying attention gets killed. Keep your rants to yourself, select appropriate times and places for discussions.

***Please see COMMUNICATION CHANNELS below****

6. Dedication

Don't give up. If the Battle Leader has to lead a charge against an opposing force 15 times in order to win the day, the Battle Leader will do so. And he will expect you all to be right behind him. Don't disappoint him.

7. Morale

Morale is key to winning and succeeding in anything. A pessimist is someone not wanted. No matter how grim a situation is, be positive. If you feel that you must provide a pessimistic attitude, please choose a different avenue than spamming it for all to know. Go away, take a time to yourself, when you return and you still feel that something needs to be said, use appropriate tact and channels for this discussion. Guild chat, nation chat, city chat, group chat is not a place for this kind of attitude. Take it to the forums where it can be properly discussed and thought about. Everyone is here to have a good time, and should not be forced to dwell on situations you feel are more important.

**House Laws**

Outlined here is the House Lok-ri family tradition, put to paper for the first time in 700 years during the Age of Strife and still relevant today. While there was a time when each of the Lok-ri family were taught these principles on their mother's breast, that time is gone now. And while only the members of the Lok-ri High Court are required to follow these rules, others who do follow these traditions will be looked upon as having excellent manners.

1. The Family

Treat the members of House Lok-ri as one of your family. In alliances, treat the members in the Lok-ri Nation as close family friends. This generally refers to in-game chat and normal everyday activities such as camping monsters, farming gold, and sharing loot. Also, always choose the Family over anyone else. Never go against the Family. A Family member can only be wrong in private, no matter how wrong they may seem. These family members do include those of the Bloodless. While these special alliances do not carry our clan name they are indeed part of the family's soul. Treat them as cousins and kindred until proven differently.

2. Elven kind or those of the "Superior Race" (In case of games without elves)

Treat all of the Superior Race with decency and consideration. Summon them when they need it, save them from a gruesome death if they need it, offer to let them join your groups, etc. Always give the Superior Race the benefit of the doubt, and choose their side over the side of lessers in an argument whenever possible. If one of the Superior Race has "lesser" acquaintances, attempt to separate him or her from them, as if you were all part of some exclusive club.

3. The Lessers and/or Slaves

Lessers are non-elven or not one of the chosen Superior Race (in case of games without elves). Treat Lessers any way you'd like. Remember, Lessers are all potential enemies. Guild members of a lesser species are excluded, these are slaves, pets, or Juggernauts (heavy armored brute dedicated to serving House Lok-ri as a protectorate). Slaves benefit us, so unkind treatment does not benefit our ultimate goal. Look at slaves like you would a prize possession. Kindness and good treatment will reward you two-fold. With that said, Slaves must not ever forget their rank and position. Never will a slave expect or demand more than one of the Chosen Race. An unruly slave will suffer dire consequences. (OOC: All Lok-ri members have the same voice as any member...Bloodkin, Bloodless, Slaves or other.)

4. Organization

Abide by the final decisions of the Council, whether you like the particular decision or not.

5. Solidarity

Do not argue with your guild leader, the council members, or your group leader where non-guild members can see it. Keep the problems of the Family, within the Family and NOT in public.

6. Family Problems

Argue with members of the guild with tells or in a small group chat. Do NOT use the guild channel to air disagreements. Always seek to involve a group leader or a Council member in disagreements as soon as possible, and abide by their decisions. Do NOT continue to bug them with tells over the next few hours.

7. Conflict of Interests

Joining House Lok-ri while you are in another guild with the intention of being in both guilds is not only ill-advised, but frowned upon. If you join another guild that is in an entirely different game before or after you are a member of House Lok-ri, it is best that you be upfront about it and let us know. With honesty, many exceptions can be made. It is completely unacceptable to be in House Lok-ri and in another guild that is in the same game, and treasonous to be in a different guild on the same server. This goes for games that House Lok-ri has declared Official and Un-Official...either way, you are with us or against us...and we would prefer that a Member be with us. If you need help choosing which guild you want to be in, you have made your choice...and that choice is not House Lok-ri. Consequences for such actions is a case by case senario. At the very least, your forum privileges will be removed for the duration of the game. If treason is determined, you will be removed from the guild.

Punishment

Members of House Lok-ri who do not follow the House Lok-ri family tradition will be warned to change their behavior. If their behavior does not change, they will be cast out. Either a person is with us and willing to follow these rules, or they are not with us. There is no middle ground. Each situation is to be taken case by case, so rules may change per environment. It is your duty to keep informed, not your peers. Basically, if you question yourself, it is best to not proceed until fully clear on a stance.

Details

Remember this: You must remember this word. Never forget it. If you are asked this word, it must be immediately recited. This word is "Elvenhose". You must remember it, so don't forget it.

**COMMUNICATION CHANNELS**

(This includes all lines of communication...Forums, IRC, Voice Chat, Guild chat etc)
1. No Verbal abuse to anyone. This means sexual harassment, racism, religious remarks, and unwanted harassment of any kind toward another individual. Think before you speak.
2. Keep profanity to a minimum.
3. Respect others as they speak. Try not to speak over another or interrupt the person currently speaking.
4. When a leader tells the group or you as an individual to do something, be quiet and do it, do not argue about it. Arguing with a leader in voice communication is a waste of time, dangerous to potential situations, disrespectful and no one wants to witness it. Take it to PMs on the forums if you have issues.
5. If a personal problem arises, do not bring it to a forefront in public channel, take it to a private channel, to forums, or PMs. Arguing with others in main channel should be minimal as best, prohibited if gets out of hand.
